Solo Performance PDX Event Check List for Newbie’s

1)      Arrive at Gateway Raceway – Find a place to park.  Covered or uncovered parking is on a first come for served basis.  Unload car and get it ready for tech.

2)      Go to Registration – it’s located in the media room, in the building just to the North of the Concession stand.

a.      Sign waiver

b.      Show drivers licenses, SCCA card (or buy a membership)

c.      Pick up packet – group letter inside (this is to be placed in the center of our front windshield at the top)

d.      Pick up wrist band (they are color coded for groups) put it on your left wrist.

e.      Questions on your group designation? ask for the Chief Instructor to discuss

3)      Event Schedule is inside of packet on a lanyard for you. Read it.

4)      Go to Tech (all) it’s located at the north end of the covered garages. If you have attended a Pre-tech you will be checked in the express line and quickly given a tech sticker (you must have your signed and completed Pre-Tech sheet). If you have a not done a pre-tech pull the sheet from your packet and fill it in before you go to tech.  Tech will do a short tech of your car on the items listed on the tech sheet.

a.      Take your car – it should be ready to go on track – cleaned out, group letter on top center of windshield

b.      Take your Snell 95 (or newer helmet)

c.      A tech sticker will be placed on cars/helmets after inspection

                                                               i.      Cars – sticker will be placed on top left corner of the windshield and helmet sticker will be placed on the left side.  Both will be checked in grid, along with your armband before you will be allowed on the track.

5)      Go back to your parking spot – read the packet you were given at registration – it’s full of great info.  Your instructor will try to come find you. If they do not, then you will meet them at the meeting.

6)      Attend meeting

7)      Proceed to Grid when your group is called.

8)      Have Fun – Be Safe

9)      After the event, return to the Media Room.  Your Instructor will review your Student Evaluation form with you. Then please complete an Instructor Evaluation from and turn it in to the Chief Instructor.  

 What to bring to a PDX?  Many entrants find a check list of items is a good idea, so based on that here is a suggested list for you.

Long Sleeved Shirt

Long pants

Full Shoes

Helmet (must be a Snell 95 or newer) in good condition

Drivers license

SCCA card (or you will have to buy a temp membership)

Sunglasses, Sunscreen, hot weather needs

Chair

Tire gauge

Other car tools
