Precision Driving Xperience
St. Louis Region SCCA
Instructors

The St. Louis Region PDX Program wants to know if anyone else is interested in becoming a PDX Instructor for this program.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A SCCA PDX INSTRUCTOR?

There are 2 types of Instructor Training available

1) If you're a SCCA Club Racing Competition License driver and want to give back to SCCA to help get more people on the track or you are a PDX/DE/HPDE Instructor certified by another organization, we have come up with a class that will introduce you to the customer oriented goals of the PDX program  and complement your track knowledge and driving experience.

2) If you are a driver who has limited track experience but think you are interested in becoming a SCCA PDX Ed Settleinstructor for our program then we have a more in depth starter program for you.

Some of the instructors that have attended our school are: Cliff Castle, Mary Daly, Chuck Deprow, Jim Easley, Dan Govero, Jeff Kelsey, Brent Meyer, Bruce Stephens, Jim Stevens, Tom Templeman, and Brent Wilson.

Jim Stevens said “My experience participating in the PDX Instructor's program was very favorable. Bob Mondschein did a fantastic job preparing the curriculum and instructing the class. The information the class learned was not only valuable in an on-track environment, but also useful in day-to-day personal and business activities. Treating the PDX student as a customer and learning how best to serve the customer has applications in many aspects of every day life. I sincerely hope more driver's will participate in this program as it is a necessity to bring new faces into our sport and keep it growing.”

Our PDX starter instructor training program isn't for everyone. It is a challenging, multi-modal program that includes classroom and self-study curriculum, written and verbal exams, video "you make the call" exercises, on-track Instructor / Student "role plays" and skills proficiency assessments. To our knowledge, this program will be the most comprehensive training of its type. It won't be for everyone, but if you have the desire, commitment, communication and  car control skills it takes, then let's talk.

Ed Settle stated “The PDX program is a great venue for our customers. It's safe, affordable, convenient, and most of all, FUN. We have expanded our group of instructors to now include the recent graduates of the first (very successful) PDX Instructors training program. If you had considered participating in a PDX before but haven't yet done it, I encourage you to come out and give it a try. If you are a PDX aficionado who would like to consider sharing what you have learned with others and gaining new insight through some additional training, then maybe our starter instructor training program is for you. We will be putting another class together soon. Either way, the PDX experience is great fun. See you at the track!”

Those successfully completing the program will earn a PDX Instructor Hat, Course Certificate, and the right to instruct at upcoming SCCA PDX track day events, with no charge for personal track time. Your greatest reward will be when your Student shakes your hand and says "thanks."
